Tesla Cars have a software vulnerability!

Tesla Vulnerability
Teen finds software flaw.
Able to Hack into dozens of Tesla Cars

Introduction:
According to Vice, David Colombo, a 19-year-old cybersecurity researcher, found a software vulnerability that allowed him to control dozens of tesla cars. According to the report he was auditing a firm in France when he found a software program that exposed data the CTOs Tesla vehicle. The data included information about the vehicles current location as well as its historic locations.

Details:
The software application is not owned by Tesla. When Colombo triggered the vulnerability, he was able to send commands to to the vehicles. These commands included disabling security features, blowing the car horn, unlocking the door, and even changing the volume of the radio. On his initial finding he discovered 25 cars that were vulnerable to the attack, However, upon further investigation he found that the vulnerability could affect hundreds of cars. The vulnerability does not impact the cars steering, acceleration, or braking systems.

Closing:
The flaw is not with Tesla's systems but rather the organization makers of the third-party app, which at this time is staying anonymous until the flaw is fixed. FYI - This isn't the first time a security flaw has been found in a Tesla car. Earlier a software vulnerability allowed a hacker to turn off a moving Tesla's engine.
